Electrical Engineer (Robotics)

The Opportunity:

Our team is growing and we are now seeking a highly motivated electrical engineer to join our
development team.

As an electrical engineer, you will be working in collaboration with mechanical and software engineers to design, prototype and manufacture different subsystems of the robot.

Responsibilities:

Electrical and mechanical system design and manufacturing Design, part sourcing, prototyping and test PCBs
Embedded systems software design Assist and participate in the testing activities in lab and on-site Communicate and collaborate with other software and hardware engineers Creating wire harnesses and wire routing diagrams for the robot Lead development of battery and charging systems for our robotics platform Ensure the regulatory requirements in design and work with the certification agencies.


Use agile project management tools like Jira and Confluence Maintain accurate documentation of product developments, experiments, purchases, etc.

Requirements:

BSc. in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Experienced in PCB Design, effective BOM selection, prototyping and testing.

Professional in embedded systems programming, C++ and Python Knowledge of battery management systems, power distribution design, motor controllers, etc.


Hands on experience with electrical components, measurement devices, wire harnessing and soldering.


Strong background in using Altium or alternative software for electrical design.

Strong problems solving skills in testing and troubleshooting the electrical systems.


Excellent communication skills Experience with robotics projects is an asset.

ROS Developer

The Opportunity:

Tellext is currently hiring a full-time, permanent position for an individual with experience in robotics software to fulfill a key role in our growing company.

We are looking for ambitious individuals who have a passion for robotics and is eager to learn and help the team deliver autonomous robots.

This position will provide you with an exciting opportunity to work as part of an ambitious and growing team, allow you to work with state of the art robotic hardware and software.

Responsibilities:

To work closely with the Engineering team for design, code, test, documentation, and maintenance of robotics application.


Write clean and readable code, debug complex problems that span systems, prioritize work and get things done with a high level of efficiency Creating and developing path/motion planning algorithms Developing SLAM algorithms in the simulation environment and testing on the real robot Designing and executing tests based on product requirements and known customer scenarios Implementing unit tests for algorithmic components of a robotics system (eg. SLAM, planner, etc.)

Requirements:

Qualifications / Experience
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.

Experience with Robotic Operating System (ROS), ROS navigation stack, and Linux Experience with OpenCV, PCL and OpenGL.

Experience with common communication protocols (SPI, UART, I2C, CAN, TCP/IP)
Experience with sensor fusion and sensor uncertainty

Experience with graphics, and simulation framework including Gazebo, Unreal Engine, Unity, and OpenGL

Experience with various sensing technologies – (stereo cameras, LiDARs, etc)
Experienced object-oriented programmer using C++ or python Ability to write readable and well-structured code Understanding of source control (GIT) and build systems (CMAKE and Catkin)
Experience with deploying and testing ROS software in physical robots.
Working in Scrum Agile environment

Nice to have:

Outstanding communication skills.

Strong Object Oriented program ability.
Experience with developing web applications using a modern front-end library or framework(ReactJS, AngularJS, and Vue) Skills to manipulate database either SQL or NoSQL(MySQL, DynamoDB, etc)
Developed Rest API by building API server(NodeJS, Django, Flask) or using serverless services(API gateway, Lambda)
Deployed and maintained web and database servers on a cloud(AWS, Azure)
Comfortable working with Docker Familiarity with code version management by Git and collaborating with other developers on either GitHub or Bitbucket

Nice to have:

Experience with building CI/CD pipeline(ECS, EKS, ECR, Docker Hub)

Experience with developing video call or streaming web applications using WebRTC
